Steve Jones - You guys have a big game this weekend against Pirates. What's the situation?
Clive answers: "The match against Orlando Pirates this weekend is critical for both teams. We have had to charter two 10-seater jet powered planes to fly us to the gaem. I remember encountering the very talented David Nyathi in Nelspruit when he was playing for Dangerous Darkies. He went on to play an important role in the success of the Bafana Bafana team."
Siphiwo Ngesi - I'm 18 years old and have been a soccer player since I was young. I've been awarded the best player of the year while I was playing for my school in 1999. In the same year I played for Moroka Swallows under 19 and Amazulu from 1999 to 2000. I also played for the amateur club in Alexander, Johannesburg. Presently, I'm being trialed by the Leopards team in Pietermaritzburg, but I feel I need a more challenging kind of exercise and that's what I probably will get from your team.I'd like to sign a contract with your team and will avail myself for trials anytime you want me to.
Clive answers: "Contact Janet Ndlovu on 031 3681666 with regards to arranging a trial with Rangers."
Siphiwe - Clive, what are Rangers prospects? You guys started off well, but have dropped off the pace a little.
Clive answers: "Manning Rangers have continued to play well, both at home and away and have given themselves an outside chance of winning the league. With 15 league and 2 cup goals to his credit, Ishmael Maluleke remains the leading goal-scorer for the 2001/02 season."
Mape Modiba - Mr Barker the youth plays such a pivital role for the future of SA Soccer. What more should clubs do and SAFA do in order as to promote youngers for tommorow? Is there any way to go for more information?
Clive answers: "There are quite a lot of Football Academies around S. A. Most professional clubs also have some sort of development structure. I would suggest that you contact Horst Kriete - Tel. 011 4943522 - for further information."
Annzell - Which English Soccer Club do you support?
Clive answers: "Arsenal"
Lesego Gladwin Moseje - In the Sydney Olympics 2000 Kenny was on the Bench when we beat Brazil 3-1 what do you think was the idea of Shakes to Change the Kenny's winning combination? was he not bribed?
Clive answers: "No. The head coach would have discussed the changes with Kenny Ndlazi and both would have their own opinions. However, Shakes would have had the final say."
Sbu Mthimkhulu - I would like to know if it is possible for my couson who is very talented young man to have the trial with your team Rangers?
I can tell you tha he is the kind of a player who have anything a coach needs from a player. Thanks
Sbu
Clive answers: "Yes. Contact Mr. Japhet Ndlovu - Tel. 031 3681666 - for further information."
Lloyd - What will you be doing in Mali during ANC? I tend to misunderstand the scouting job.
Clive answers: "I assessed the countries we played. Also if I spotted a talented player I recommended him to a reputable agent."
djoseph - Hi Clive tell me, do you have any tapes off
your coach years. If please let me know,as i whant to become a coach at me club
thank you.
Clive answers: "I have not yet collated any of my coaching ideas on tape. Watch my Webpage for developments in that direction! Good Luck."
Martin: "Do you think the way the English PSL play a lot of games over the Christmas period should be done in SA to prevent the congestion of fixtures, especially at the end of the season?"
Clive answers: "No, I don't like that idea, I think it would be preferable to rather have less teams in the League. At the moment there are 18 and that might be too many."
Siphiwe: "If you could have any strike force in SA, what 2 players would you pair upfront, and why?"
Clive answers: "I would chose Jean-Marc Itier and Gilbert Mushangazike - between them they have the right flare, talent and reliability. I have coached them both (Itier at Santos last year and now Mushangazike at Rangers) and would love to see them partnered."
Davis: "In your opinion, who is South Africa's best goal keeper?"
Clive answers: "André Arendse - by far! He has done so much for SA soccer as well as serving with distinction in the UK."
